At Sana Pads, our mission is to combat period poverty in a sustainable manner.
By providing reusable sanitary pads, we aim to promote gender equality and overcome barriers to menstruation.

The Problem
In Nigeria alone, around 50 million women currently have no or only limited access to hygienic period products.
As a result, girls regularly miss days of school and sometimes drop out of school altogether.
In some cases, girls have to take extreme measures to access menstrual products.
The use of unhygienic alternatives such as newspapers, old kitchen towels and sticks often leads to infectious diseases.

Why we started
The idea started when one of our team members was still a teenager:

Our Impact so far
Since the incorporation of Sana Pads, we sold over 3000 pads, raised donations for girls who cannot afford pads.
In this way, we have significantly contributed to reducing disposable pad waste and bringing girls back to school.
